Bots that keep a group or channel running when the admins are asleep: welcome messages, rules, join approval, topic housekeeping, scheduled posts and a queue for things a human should decide.

01 / What they do

What these bots do

  • Welcome and rules.Greet new members, show the rules, and ask them to accept before they can post.
  • Join requests.Approve or decline requests to join automatically, based on questions you set.
  • Roles and access.Give members access to topics or linked chats based on their role or subscription.
  • Scheduled posts.Queue announcements for a channel or group in advance.
  • Moderation queue.Collect reports and flagged messages for an admin to decide on.

02 / Before you add one

Check before you add one

Read the permission request before you tap Add or Start.

  • Grant only the rights it needs.Telegram admin rights are granular: deleting messages, banning users, inviting users, pinning and managing topics are separate switches. A welcome bot does not need to ban anyone.
  • Admins read everything.A bot with admin rights receives every message in the group, so its privacy policy matters as much as its features.
  • Who controls it.Settings should be limited to group admins, and removing the bot should stop its access straight away.
  • Data about members. Some bots store member lists, join dates or answers to join questions. Ask how long that is kept.

Basic check: the bot is online and answers, its profile matches the submission, and nothing it offers raised a red flag. Tested hands-on: we also used its main feature ourselves. Neither is a paid placement.
